Frozen Strawberry-Mango Margarita

Serves: 6

  • 3 cups frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup Sombra Mezcal or tequila
  • 2/3 cup lime juice
  • ½ cup orange liqueur, such as Triple Sec
  • ¼ cup simple syrup, store bought or homemade
  • 3 cups ice
  • 3 cups frozen mango chunks

Homemade simple syrup

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

  • Fresh strawberries
  • Fresh mango, sliced into wedges

  1. Add strawberries, ½ cup Sombra Mezcal or tequila, 1/3 cup lime juice, ¼ cup orange liqueur, 2 tablespoons simple syrup, and 1 ½ cups ice to Blender. Pulse until smooth and transfer to a pitcher or bowl.
  2. Rinse out the Blender Jar. Add mango chunks and remaining Sombra Mezcal or tequila, lime juice, orange liqueur, simple syrup, and ice to Blender and pulse until smooth.
  3. Layer the strawberry mixture and the mango mixture, alternating, in the Grande Glasses. Leave the layers distinct or partially stir together for a swirled design. Garnish with strawberries and mango wedges and serve.

To make homemade simple syrup:
In a medium saucepan, bring sugar and water to a boil, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar. Let cool 30 minutes and then refrigerate until cold, at least 1 hour. Makes about 1 ½ cups.
