Cajun Rice and Shrimp

Serves: 6


  • ½ cup onions, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, shredded
  • 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp. Cajun seasoning blend
  • 3 cups cooked long-grain brown rice
  • 2 cups tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup frozen okra
  • 1 lb. pre-cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Vida Sana 5-Ply Stainless Steel 14" Skillet


Preheat Skillet over medium-high heat. Sprinkle water droplets into the Skillet, when droplets bead and dance across the surface, add onions, garlic and celery. Sauté without lid for about 4-6 minutes until onions start to soften. Add seasoning blend, rice, tomatoes and okra. Stir to combine. Add shrimp on top of rice mixture and cover with lid and valve in Steam Whistle position. When valve starts to whistle, turn it to Steam-Seal™ position and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes until everything is heated through. If rice is a little watery, cook for a few additional minutes with the lid off. Add fresh parsley right before serving and stir in to combine. Add salt and pepper to taste.
